My Review:- This is book 3 in the Green Family Saga. Liz has had enough of the Dot-Com and has decided she's going to move back to Ireland and buy's a house. She's been through so much and she can see Sean turning into his dad, Brian O'Connor who was an alcoholic. Is this the end of Sean and her or when he turns up in Ireland will he decide to stop the drinking and fight for her.  Liz is a strong independent woman, and  she doesn't always trust people, especially men. I have to say I was like Liz on who to trust and who to stay away from. I will be reading the other two books in the Green Family Saga, Africa Green and Rebel Green.

For as long as I can remember it's been the four of us. One mortal, two children of the Fallen, and an heir like no other. Bound by an unconventional childhood, we were best friends, and they were my world. But in the blink of an eye they were gone, cutting me out of their life as if I never mattered at all.
So I did what I had to do, I left them, and our shared world behind, and started a new one, Keeping their three traitorous hearts, far from my own.
It's been three years since the last time we saw each other, and I haven't forgotten or forgiven, It's time to come home and get even.

Bliss and Other Stories

Bliss and Other Stories
By Katherine Mansfield
Genre:-Classic Fiction
Format:- Audiobook Immersive Experience
Blurb:-Loved by Ali Smith and envied by Virginia Woolf, in her short life, Katherine Mansfield wrote many stories that would end up among the most important works of modernist and feminist literature. In these innovative and captivating short stories, you'll find a housewife's sexual and emotional awakening, an actress's desperate search for work, and other vivid moments crafted in fine detail and shapely-drawn characters.
Audrey Guide, Sophie Corser is an academic and researcher of modern and contemporary women's writing. In the guide to Bliss and Other Stories she shares juicy facts about Mansfield's own  short but productive life, literary insights into the short story form, discussion questions provoked by the stories, beautiful images and as in all Audrey guides, a brilliant playlist.
With hand-drawn illustrations by Rosie leech.

My Review:-I remember reading Katherine Mansfield stories many years ago and when I was asked to review Bliss and Other Stories Audio I was only to happy. I loved that you could listen to one or two stories, then leave it for a few days and then listen to another as these weren't to long but also not to short that you don't get the whole story. I did listen to a few of these while waiting for my appointment at the hospital. I found the narrator was clear and I loved how she went from one character to another will no problem, she pulled you into the story as it went along.

My Review:- This is book 8 in the The Inspector Stark Series. When I first seen the cover and started reading this book, I thought the Three Little Angels were Benny, Chip and little Franky but as I read more of the story I found out they weren't. There are a few twists and turns in the story which I didn't expect. I like how the author brought mental health into his story with DI Stark and Benny. Stark new what Benny was going through because of his past and this helped to save Benny's life. I finally found the Three Little Angels on the cover. I will be looking out for more books by Keith Wright

Dear Bumbling Boy

Dear Bumbling Boy
By Jenny Dee
Genre:- Non-Fiction
Blurb:- What started out as a joke ("This is entertaining; you should write a book about your dating gone wrong") turned into a reality the moment I took a class on character development and realized that my bumbled and blundered online dating experiences were merely research opportunities for future book characters.
From scammers and sexual predators to Mr. Nice Guys and heart stealers, I've gathered enough material to inspire all kinds of literary personalities - while laughing and learning about men and myself along the way. A tongue-in-cheek expose about my online dating mishaps awaits.
Thank you @lovebookstours @jennydeeauthor #Ad #Gifted #BookTwitter #Bookstagram #Bookhive #LoveBooksTours #LBTCrew
My Review:- The first thing I liked about the book was the bright colourful cover. This book is a must for anyone wanting to do online dating and also if you want a good laugh. Jenny has filled the book with a collection of anecdotes and the way she has wrote about each character is great.  You won't believe some of the characters that she came across, a mayor with a second home in a lake community with random trivia-like knowledge, the sex-obsessed security guard and my favourite was someone who was 5'8' and asked if she wanted someone taller, as he'd wear high heels for her. Jenny has also said that she had ghosted men herself while trying the dating thing.

🚕My Reviews:- This book was interesting and I enjoyed history and the quirky facts that the author added. My Uncle had a taxi firm and my dad worked for him many years ago, so I grow up around the drivers and the taxi cars themselves. Back in those days most of the drivers were all middle to older age white driver but now it is a multi culture job. I like how the author did her researchv from taxi drivers themselves and the stories they told her.

My Review:- This is book 2 in the Firekind series. Poppy and Thom are surrounded and there is no escape but why do they want them, even though Thom asks more than once, he's still doesn't know what is happening. Felix Paquin had ordered the capture of his daughter Poppy and hides her away at his home, While Thom is lying in bed in the medward in Caldys, not knowing where Poppy is, but he does know who has her. After a visit from Felix with someone or something that looks, sound and dresses like Poppy but he knows this is not her, so where can she be and will he find her. There are so many twists in this story you will not put it down. Trying to get back together Poppy and Thom both had their own battles to overcome as well as protecting their homeland. Once Thom and Poppy are back together their love is even stronger but will it last?  With Angela's (the author) description and the map at the beginning of the book, you can picture the story in your head. I love that Angela also added 'Firekind Terms' in the back of the book which helps you build the story even more.

This Isn't Working

This Isn't Working
By Catherine Altman Morgan
Genre:- nonfiction/self-help
Publisher:- Indigo River Publishing
Blurb:- The Great Resignation, the Great Reshuffling, and Quiet Quilting - clearly something is not right at work. Rates of stress, anxiety, and depression were skyrocketing before the Covid-19 pandemic. Tied to their smartphone 24/7, many people were overworking, measuring their self-worth and value by how busy they were. They compared their lives to the filtered lives of peers on social media. They worked in corporate cultures that didn't support employees, and they undervalued the importance of their own mental and physical health.
During the pandemic's height in 2020, many people were forced to stay at home. Some found themselves without a job at all; others had to learn to do their jobs remotely. It was during this "down time" that many people realized that busyness, overworking, overconsumption, avoidance, and numbing weren't helping. In fact, it was batshit crazy.
In This Isn't Working! Evolving the Way we Work to Decrease Stress, Anxiety, and Depression, career transition expert Catherine Altman Morgan, explains why, we shouldn't be striving to get back to "normal," because normal wasn't all that great. Instead, we need to EVOLVE.
Through her company, Point A to Point B Transitions Inc. Catherine has worked with many clients who suffer with physical and mental health issues caused by work-related stress. In this book she offers techniques and strategies to rethink how we live and work and start feeling better almost immediately.

My Review:- I thought I would see if this book would help with my mental and physical help, and I was surprised with what I read. I did like the Strategies and Tools That work Wonders and Putting It Back Together. It's amazing how many of us would not let someone talk down or speak rudely to someone we love but we don't think the same when it comes to ourselves. This book will make you look at things differently.

My Review:- When I first seen this book with a colourful cover and the most adorable creature on the front, I knew my grandchildren would love it. I loved how each page was as colourful as the next, the illustrations are beautiful and there is plenty to talk about. With the rhyming and repeated words it's great for reading together. I love the message that is told throughout the story, even when he had took something from everyone he still wasn't happy, but given back and loving himself did make him happy. This is a book that will be read over and over.

Shadows in the Aftermath

Shadows in the Aftermath
By Marianne Scott
Genre:- Suspense, Thriller
Pages:- 336
Publisher:- FriesenPress
Blurb:-Ruby Draker has found new strength, and is ready to move on after Felix Szaba devastated the Draker estate in Nice, France. Three Drakers are dead leaving Ruby in grief and with thoughts of revenge. The Drakers are  family built of survivors; each rescued from Felix Szaba a psychopath, who sought to murder his former agents at the CIA whom he believed betrayed him. The Drakers sole mission is to stop Szaba from adding more victims to his list, and although he also perished during the invasion his legacy continues to haunt them. When the Drakers learn that Robert Draker, presumed dead since the shoot-out at Robert's farmhouse, may be alive and at a rehab clinic in Portland, Maine, the Drakers know it could be a set up, but they have no choice but to try to find him and bring Robert home.
Shocked that Robert may be alive after all, the family head from France to America to find him. It's only when they arrive in the west that they realize finding Robert won't be as easy as they thought.
Szaba has found a way to  terrorize the Draker family, even after death. His outstanding dept with a Corsican crime family mean the Drakers must now find and deliver a shipment of plutonium,  which will likely be used by terrorists to create a nuclear bomb, to get Robert back. As Ruby struggles with the decision to save her brother or North America, she must also evade the CIA, who are trying to stop the Drakers from delivering the plutonium.
Thank you @lovebookstours @mariannescottauther #Ad #Gifted #BookTwitter #Bookhive #Bookstagram #LoveBooksTours #LBTCrew
My Review:- I have to say I was only to happy to review this book after reading and reviewing Finding Ruby Draker (review in my grid). You could read as a stand alone as it does tell a bit of book 1 but I would personally say read book1 first. After finding out that Robert might still be alive the Drakers have to find the truth. With the help from the Seniors, they go to find Robert, but it's not as straightforward as you might think. The Corsican family with Mateo at the head of the family has been promised plutonium by Felix, but now Felix is dead, time is running out for him. Mateo knows that the Drakers are the only people that can get the plutonium for him, so he has something he knows the Drakers will come looking for. There are many twists and turns in the story it will have you guessing, but will your guesses be right? Will the Drakers be able to find the plutonium or will it end with a bang?

When Father Thomas Sheridan encounters Faith in a dark cupboard, he believes he’s found his future wife. But Tom isn’t brave enough to tell her the truth...

When Faith meets Tom in the office kitchenette, she can’t stand him. No matter, she’s fallen for the mysterious man she met in the cupboard and can’t wait to meet him again. Oh, and she’s got a new rule: one lie and he’s out. She’s not getting duped again.

Everyone loves Tom. Faith’s friend Perdita, her sister Hope—who’s on the lookout for a man herself—and neighbours Luke and Gavin—who’ve fallen out over Luke wanting a baby. Faith’s urged to give Tom a chance and realises he has some good points after all. But how can she have strong feelings for two men? And even worse, how will she react when she discovers that Tom is the man in the cupboard—and, heaven forbid, a Catholic priest?

The Poisoned Garden By Phill Featherstone
Genre:- YA/coming of age/fantasy
Blurb:- The ancient  city of Chamaris is governed by powerful families. Chief among them is the House of the Leopard. headed by LordKarkis, the Master of the city.
Karkis is ageing and going blind and he must look to his succession.  He has two sons. The elder, Ragul, is the child of his first wife, Vancia. The younger is Peglar, who is two years Ragul's junior and whose mother is Karkis's number two wife, Chalia. Karkis and Vancia also have a daughter, Molina, but in Chamaris women are the property of their own, so the estate will go to the boys. However, the division may not be equal and will depend on their father's assessment of their merits. He thinks highly of Ragul but has a low opinion of Peglar.
In order to inherit, Ragul and Peglar must qualify as adult citizens, and that means successfully meeting three gruelling challenges of strength and courage. Ragul completed them sometime ago, and now it;s Peglar;s turn. But where as Ragul is sturdy and athletic, Peglar is bookish and not given to physical pursuits and has reconciled himself to failure.
However, he receives assistance from an unexpected quarter. His father's Steward takes pity on him, and with his coaching and help Peglar manages the challenges, although not without problems.
Peglar and Ragul are now both entitled to receive the family inheritance. The question is, determined it will be Ragul, and together with her daughter, Malina sets out on a plot to neutralise Peglar and destroy his mother. Matters come to a head when Peglar must face Ragul in the dreaded cage, an enclosure in which they are locked and must fight until one of them is unable to leave.

My Review:- I wasn't sure if i would enjoy this book but I can't wait until the next book comes out.   This is a story of 2 brothers Ragul and Peglar. Peglar is the youngest of the brothers and has to show his father Karkis he is ready to be a 'adult citizen'. Peglar has to pass 3 things, Earth- running around a track, Water- swimming and Fire- walk across fire bare foot, all within 3 weeks.  During this time he starts talking to Yalka a girl from the River Settlement and someone he shouldn't be talking to but he wants to help her and hopefully move her from where she lives.  Will Peglar pass the tests and be able to help Yalka and the other people from the River Settlement or will his brother do anything he can to stop him.

The Wolf of Mist and Fire

The Wolf of Mist and Fire

Blurb:- Buried treasure. An ancient mystery. A race against time.

And that was before she unearths an ancient coin that brings a mythic wolf, an Iron Age girl and greedy treasure - hunters to her door.   A gripping historical mystery of treasure, friendship, and secrets.
Thank you @lovebookstours #Ad #Gifted #LoveBooksTours #Bookstagram #BookTwitter
My Review:- The story begins on Jersey Channel Islands in 53B.C. Jos is searching for his younger sister Maelle and belong to The Coriosolite Tribe.
We move forward 2,000 years later and follow three children, May, Ruth and their little brother Bear who go to stay with their Uncle for a week (I have to say Bear and the Uncle are my favourite). After getting a metal Detector and told about the treasure from Iris their Uncles neighbour they go on the hunt. May finds a ancient coin and that she doesn't tell Ruth and Bear about at first, but when May starts having strange dreams and feeling different when holding the coin she tells them that she found it. What does a Iron Age girl, a mythic wolf, and a black crow have to do with it ?
The author has made the characters interesting and describes them in a way you can picture them in your head. Oh look out for the fish and the smells. I will be looking for other books from this author.

Question 9

I find adverts play a big part in the world we live in nowadays, especial when it comes to beauty, fashion and body image. For as long as I can remember you never seen anyone that was more than a size 6/8/10, long legs and the perfect body and the men were no better.
It's only been in the last few years that the adverts have shown that we are all different, but we are all beauty inside and out. It's good to see that they are shown more about mental health and it's not just women, men do suffer from this as well.
I think there is still so much pressure put on us, especially at different times of the year/holidays. At Christmas there is so much pressure put on parents as the child wants all the toys they is because they look great on television, but when they get them it's noting like the adverts. At the moment it's buy this as it's Valentines coming up, this wasn't something you would of normally done years ago, maybe a card and some flowers, now it's jewellery and perfume/aftershave.
