The Wolf of Mist and Fire

The Wolf of Mist and Fire
By Eve de Gruchy
Genre:- Children's Fiction (8-12years)
Blurb:- Buried treasure. An ancient mystery. A race against time.
A tiny island, a bossy sister, a clueless uncle. May knew the half-term was going to be a challenge. And that was before she unearths an ancient coin that brings a mythic wolf, an Iron Age girl and greedy treasure - hunters to her door. In a race against time, the children must bury their differences and solve the shocking secret closer to home.
A gripping historical mystery of treasure, friendship, and secrets.

My Review:- The story begins on Jersey Channel Islands in 53B.C. Jos is searching for his younger sister Maelle and belong to The Coriosolite Tribe.
We move forward 2,000 years later and follow three children, May, Ruth and their little brother Bear who go to stay with their Uncle for a week (I have to say Bear and the Uncle are my favourite). After getting a metal Detector and told about the treasure from Iris their Uncles neighbour they go on the hunt. May finds a ancient coin and that she doesn't tell Ruth and Bear about at first, but when May starts having strange dreams and feeling different when holding the coin she tells them that she found it. What does a Iron Age girl, a mythic wolf, and a black crow have to do with it ?
The author has made the characters interesting and describes them in a way you can picture them in your head. Oh look out for the fish and the smells. I will be looking for other books from this author.
