📚✂️✂️My Review- Wolfboy Jack and The Scissors of Doom is about a young wolf who isn’t afraid of anything or is he? He loves to help his friends Cyclops Sam, Mol elude and a cat named Pam are just a few. At the end of Summer Jack’s fur begins in grow and so does Jack’s fear. He try’s his best to show that he’s not scared but his friend Tim the Sphinx see’s he is. Jack’s friends decide that they need to help him to overcome his fear. This is a book that shows we are all scared of something no matter how big or small it is, you can overcome it with the help of your friends. Each page of this book has bright colour illustrations and something to talk about. My granddaughter Emily and I decided to read this book together and she loved how Jack looked different when his fur grew, and his friends went with him to show they cared.✂️✂️✂️📚📚

I sat with my Granddaughter Emily to review this book and we both were surprised at how much we loved it.
With more than 50 interesting questions ‘Does it rain diamonds in Jupiter?’ ‘Could I sing in Space?’ Each question is answered with both text and amazing illustrations.
This is a book that will be picked up again and again, especially for school projects and other work.

My granddaughter Emily and I sat down together to read Axel’s First Day, this is a book that can be read to small children but also a good book for children that are starting to read themselves. Axel’s is a little forklift that is so looking forward to his first day helping at a construction site, but because he wants to do, see and help everyone he try’s to do everything at once without listening or waiting for anyone else. Axel speeds around, poor Gaby has her strap snapped. Digby who’s the foreman has to step in and stop Axel before anything else happens. After Digby and the crew explains to Axel how everyone helps each other, things are a lot better. The illustrations are bight and colour, with plenty for children to talk about. This book shows you that everyone has a First Day at something but with people around you and friends to help you can get through your First Day🚜🚜🚜

🦜🦜🦜My review:- This is a about Sid a budgie that is bought at the market by Auntie Lottie and Asaf. No matter what they try Sid won’t talk, he does love flying around and watching Auntie Lottie in the kitchen. Then one day Sid does find his voice but not in a way that you might think, you’ll have to read this book to find out.
The illustrations are colourful and cute. It’s a book that is easy to read and also your child could tell the story through the pictures 🦜🦜🦜

👶🍼👩‍🍼My review:- This is a story of Rikki, once a stay at home mam to a young child, who decided to go into on-gyn nursing. Reading this book took me back to when I had my first child in the 80s, how Rikki describes how the nurse would wheel the babies to the mothers to be fed then back to the nursery, something that would never happen now. Reading about the doctors, nurses and staff when she worked at The Women’s Practice. I did love the story about Lil ( a secretary), when Dr Slinger asked for her help, not knowing the medical terms and being a bit squeamish, when the doctor asked for a 4x4 she handed him a tongue depresser as she knew what a 2x4 was and that was the closest.
It is amazing how the ob-gyn has improved over the years, not just for both parents and babies but for the nursing staff.
This is a book that I would buy for a few of my friends. 👩‍⚕️🤱👨‍🍼🍼

A Few Things I've Crochet

 Here are a few items that I have crochet over the past few months

What's been happening

 Where to start, ok I had another operation on 28th August 2022 at the Freeman Hospital, hopefully everything has went ok and this one should be my last operation (fingers crossed).  I'm starting to feel a lot better as I wasn't to good, I had a stent in which I had to remove it myself after 5 days (wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be), I also didn't know when I needed the toilet or not, so I had to wear pads which I wouldn't wish on anyone. Now my stent is out I'm no longer back and forward to the toilet every 30 minutes. I can't believe it's been nearly 3 years since all my trouble started with my kidney and was rushed into hospital on blues and twos. I think with everything going on with my kidney my other health problems have been worse, especially my fibromyalgia both the pain side and forgetting things as well. I've been using both my heat pad and hot water bottles for the pain, but because of the weather we've been having the heat has been bad as well.

I've been crocheting a few things for presents. I've finished a pink and white baby blanket in a pattern I've never done before and I've started a blanket for my nurse that comes out to the house to do my injections every 8 weeks, I'm not sure what colours she likes so I hope the colours I've picked are ok. My nurse has been coming out to my house for the past 5 years for me, she has always been there if I've had any problems and need to talk about it, but she has started thinking about retiring, so I wanted to make her something special for her.

Emily's went home today for a few days to spend sometime with her mam as Nikki's off work for a week. Been looking for a hotel so we can take Emily away for a few days, she's never been in a hotel before so she's looking forward to it.  Not sure where we are going to go yet, but I would like it to be somewhere we can also do something or go somewhere different.
