Yes it's Here.......

Merry Christmas Everyone, I thought I might of been asleep by now but as you can see I'm still awake.  Santa's plates out with his mince pie and drink, oh and not forgetting carrots for his reindeer.  Even though Makenzy's 12 he still loves doing the Christmas Eve tradition. He's hung his and Megan's Christmas stockings, made sure everything was right for the Santa plate, he then put the reindeer food out so both the reindeer and Santa could see it and also made sure the Magic Key was hung outside so Santa can get in with the presents.  It's so nice that he still wants to do all this. I do think if Megan and he had being going to school instead of Home Ed things would of been different, but being Home Ed and mixing with other children that still believes is a lovely thing.. I'm not to sure about Megan, she still loves doing the reindeer food and the going to bed early ready for Santa, but just not to sure on the rest.
I'm so please the running around for Christmas is over and everyone is hopefully settling down. If you haven't got everything you need now, its to late to worry about it.

Merry Christmas, I hope you've been good and you get some of the things you have asked for.
Xxx

What You Been Up To?

Good Evening, It's been a long day or is it just me. I've had so much to do and still not finished everything. I decided to do myself a list of things I need to do and need done before the Jolly Man comes.  I woke up early this morning but wish I hadn't, I've woke up with no voice, not good when you have to phone people.  I went and picked up my oldest daughter this morning as she's using my car to get some bits in for me as I'm not in the mood to go shopping.

I was asked if I could make a couple of Christmas cards for a friend, which I've managed to do and drop off. When I dropped the cards off I found out that her mam had passed away. It's not a nice thing anytime of the year but this time is a bit harder.

We've put our Christmas tree up but haven't finished it yet, that's for tomorrow. I like to do the tree as a family, plus Megan and Makenzy love doing it. Once we are all finished I'll put a pic up so you can see what we've done. I have all the Christmas stockings that I made last year to put up, been making little penguins this year.

Well I'm going to go and have a hot Lemon and an early night and hopefully I will feel a lot better tomorrow and you never know I might have my voice back.

Another day almost over

Hi, I would normally say good morning or good evening but it's not been one today. Having fibromyalgia does take it out of you and I think if you haven't got it or know someone with it you don't really know how we feel. With fibromyalgia you have good days and bad days but because I have other health problems I find I'm in pain everyday. Anyone that knows me knows I don't like showing how bad I am,  I always say that 'there's someone worse off than me'.  Today's been one of these days where you don't know where you want to be because no way is comfortable.  Trying to find somewhere that is comfortable is one of the hardest things to do. All my body is in pain today even my fingers, and on top of that I'm full of cold. Ive not been off my bed much today as I find sitting in my wheelchair just makes it worse when I'm having a bad day, so lying on my bed with heat mat, tens machine and my tablets is the best place for me.  I must say I have a brilliant family especially Megan and Makenzy. Since Andrew past away they have been my rock, without them I'm not sure where I would be now.
As most of you know Megan and Makenzy are both 'Home Educated'  HE' for short.  Since we decided on HE Megan and Makenzy have came on loads. We do a lot of hands on things, they both know how to cook and bake, Makenzy takes after Andrew for cooking he loves it so much. They both know how to deal with money for everyday living and also for bills and how to budget.  Some people think because Megan and Makenzy are HE they don't see other children the same age as themselves but we do, we do a lot of HE meets with children of all ages that are also HE. We meet up once a week if not more. Depending on weather and what workshops are on depends on what we do. Megan and Makenzy were at the 'Live Theatre ' doing story writing and the story they were writing with the other HE children was made into a small book for each one of them and it was up to them what the end of the story was about.
Well that's enough for tonight as it's time I try and get some sleep, I know I won't get a lot but some is better than no sleep. Night, night xx

Been Busy

Been busy making cards for a few different reasons. I've just finished 3 cards for a friend that lives beside me. When I make cards I like them to relate to the person they are for, sometimes it's harder than others especially when it's men cards that I have to make. Men cards have always been hard to make, but if you have an idea what the person likes it does help.
Here are a few cards I've been making over the past few days.

All these cards have been made using Hunkydory.

Not A Bad Day

Hi, It hasn't been a bad day today, the sun has been shinning and it was warm. I've been up since 5am this morning so not much longer and I'm off to bed.
I've been playing around today with different things trying to think of something different and I have a few things on the go. so wait and see soon.
I was asked by my daughters friend if I could do a Father's Day Card for her step dad, (yes I know it's a bit later, but he it's due back in our country until next week), anyway she wanted something different and told me he loves his campervan so this is what I came up with and she loved it

This is another one I made for a friend, she loves cats and also works on computers all day at work

This afternoon I thought I better get some more knitting done as I knitting for a lady who's daughter is due her baby end of Aug beginning of Sept. I've already knitted 2 little cardigans, a pair of mittens, a bonnet and a helmet as she doesn't know what she is having. It's lovely to see that some people still like to wait until the baby is born before finding out what they are having. I think I was lucky with all my children as something told my inside what I was having and I was right for all of them. I know my last 2 children my husband Andrew asked what we were having as we had lost 2 babies before them and deep down we both wanted to know if anything did happen what I was carrying, but he didn't tell me. Plus we had 2 lovely babies, (not that they are babies anymore)

Not Been A Good Day

Hi, well it's not been a good day today for me, I've been in a lot of pain so haven't been able to do much. Megan and Makenzy are 2 really great kids. They've got on with school work this morning, followed by doing some art work. This afternoon they both decided to do their bedrooms without being asked to.  Makenzy wanted to make tea tonight and before he even made it I knew what he was going to make. Makenzy's into Chicken and salad wraps. Makenzy's not one to try new things, unlike Megan she'll try anything and everything, she even wants to try crickets. The only crickets we've had in the house were for our pet spider.
I hope I'm feeling a lot better tomorrow as I have 2 cards to make for someone and then I need to think of something for my class on Wednesday.
I'm off to bed now with a heat pad and some tablets, nite x

Busy Weekend

Feels lovely sitting down doing nothing for 5 minutes. I've had 2 of my Grandchildren this weekend, they only came to drop my shopping in on Friday teatime with my daughter and ended up staying until 10 minutes ago (6.30pm Sunday).  It's amazing just how much you can fit into a weekend. Over the weekend we've played Monopoly, played on the Playstation, played with the Playmobil, played Minecraft, read stories, draw pictures and colouring them in, crafted (making cards), played hide and seek, did some sums, watching some television, listen to some music, watched a video about making a baby (no not that way Reborning) and guess what still had time to sleep. Oh forgot showers, hair washed, and meals also this weekend.

Something New

Hi, Well I've decided to try something different, something I've never done before but something I love and always wanted to try but always put it off.  Reborn Babies, I've got 3 reborn babies, twin boy and girl (Skie and Arron) and a little girl (Andi). We got the twins almost 12 years ago.  We lost twins and it was the worse day of my life. After seeing some reborn babies online that someone had made I thought I would look into it, I found people had Reborns for many reasons and one of those reasons was after losing a baby. It wasn't until about 1 year later and I saw a baby someone had made and new that was how my baby girl would look like. After contacting the lady and many emails, texts and phone calls she said she would be happy to make the twins for us.  Once she had finished and she sent them to us the day came when we had the box in front of us to open. We can't believe just how perfect the babies were, we were really pleased with how she had made the babies. So that's how I got the twins.
Then 3 years ago Andrew my husband seen a baby that he thought was just right for our daughter Megan, as she had asked for a special baby (her words for a reborn) since she was very young. I didn't know anything about it and in the meantime Andrew past away suddenly and everything was upside down. Then out of the blue 6 weeks later I got a email from a lovely lady to say that the baby was finished and would I like to collect it or did we want it posted. I emailed back explaining that my husband had past away suddenly and I knew nothing about this reborn baby. She emailed back saying she was really sorry and the baby had been paid for but if I didn't want it she understand and it wouldn't be a problem. I didn't need to think about it, I knew this was something extra special for Megan from her Daddy. Megan was over the moon about the baby and said her baby was extra special and she was calling her Angel as her Daddy was a Angel in heaven and it was from him.
After a few months Makenzy asked for something extra special from his Daddy and he knew what he wanted, he had seen a reborn baby boy and asked if he could have that. Once he got his baby he decided to call it Andrew after his Daddy. From the day he got Andrew he has never slept or been away anyway without him, he talks to him about his Daddy and I do think it has helped both my youngest children to cope just that little bit better.
I got my last reborn baby Andi about 2 years ago now. When I saw her I fell in love with her.
Here are our reborn babies

 Baby Arron (twin)
 Baby Skie (twin)
 Baby Andi
 Baby Andrew (Makenzy's little boy)
Baby Angel (Megan's baby girl)

So now I have bought myself a full kit, which has everything in to make a reborn baby. I haven't decided if it will be a boy or a girl yet. I have watched a few videos showing how to paint and reborn a baby, but not yet started mine (I've only had it a few days).  I will let you know how I get on and will post pictures as I go.

Been Busy

Hi, I've been sorting out my cards that I have made, it's amazing just how many I have. I know I'm not the only one that has loads of cards that they have made, because I teach card making I always end up with 2 the same and unless it's someone's birthday they stay in a box in my cupboard.
I thought I would share a few of the cards that I have made.
The first stitch card is one that I made with my class. I think the hardest part was doing all the holes and maybe deciding on what colour to do.
This stitch card was a pattern I found for free online. I've really enjoyed making these cards, it does make a difference for the same sort of cards we often do.
My first Christmas card of the year, decided to start early with the class. I love House Mouse they always look cute.

Having A Sort Out

Where do I start, been doing my craft cupboard out, didn't know I had so much. It's amazing what I've found that I thought I have used or forgot I had. I've decided that I don't need anymore card or paper for a while, also found a load of decoupage, I know why I have a lot because when I first started making cards (about 11 years ago) I loved doing decoupage and just bought some every time we were out, only problem is that back then you had to cut your decoupage yourself as there wasn't much you just popped out. I don't do much decoupage now, I would rather do stamping.
I think I've done more crafting in the last few weeks then I have done over the last year. I'm back teaching my class once a week, which I'm enjoying.
Been crafting today with one of my Granddaughters, Sophie loves crafting, as soon as she comes through my door she shouts "Nana can we craft please". It's really lovely that she loves to craft with me. I'll add some pictures later of what we have been doing.

Getting There

Hi, over the past few weeks I've been playing around with book folding and I've decided that I really like doing it. I thought I would start with something easy then go from there, so my first make was 2 hedgehogs, 1 girl and 1 boy. Once I finished the folding I had to decorate the base that they would be put on. As you can see I used a plain green paper, adding leaves, flowers and butterflies, which I punched out.
