My Review:-I've never read anything by Denzil Meyrick, but the blurb is what made me want to give it a read and I glad I did. Inspector Frank Grasby is sent to investigate some thefts at Elderby, but things soon get a lot harder when a body is found in the chimney of Holly House. Not long later a second body is found. Frank soon finds there's more to this than meets the eye. Why and what are the locals hiding? The story has plenty of twists that will keep you turning the pages.
