Blurb:-An impactful story about the heroism of surviving on the social periphery.
Fifteen-year-old Efrain and his two younger brothers live in a house on the hillside in Monterrey, Northern Mexico. They are left to fend for themselves after their mother is wrongly arrested for theft.
Ma has raised her boys to keep out of trouble with the local gangs and to study for their future, but they are viewed by society as good-for-nothings or criminals simply because of where they live.
The only people offering any kind of support are the local gang members-but everything comes with a price tag.
Thrilling adventure of family love and hope.
Young people growing up with parents in prison.
A generation marked by violence due to drug trafficking
Language typical of Monterrey which penetrates each and every one of its pages

My Review:-It's up to fifteen-year-old Efrain to look after his two younger brothers, since their mother was wrongly arrested and sent to prison for theft. But Efrain has to try and do what he can to help their mother. They live on the hillside in Monterrey, Mexico. Still going to school Efrain must work as much as he can for money, to buy food for them. Will Efrain turn to what is on offer from the local gangs or not? The storyline shows how things are different for people with money to those with nothing. Looking at how we live, to some we have a lot, but then we look at how different we are to people with a lot more than us. There is always people out there willing to help, but some expect something more in return.
