My Review:-My Granddaughter Emily and I read this book together. We meet Soso on the morning of her 9th birthday, she was so excited for her party that she was having in the afternoon. Soso and her mother go to pick her brother up, but he wasn't ready to go, so Soso played in the garden near by. Soso was transported to a place she didn't know, and is welcomed by Jaiyle a man calling her 'Your Highness.' She explained her name wasn't Asobi, it was Soso and she lived in Ikoyi. Jaiyle tells her about the entire kingdom being under a spell casted by Adetola and she must help save them, by going to the castle and taking the pedant from Adetola. Once Soso save the kingdom, it's time for her to go home as it's time for her party. Soso enjoys her party and the games. The next day she opens her presents and there is one that she didn't know who it was from, until she opened it, it was from Jaiyle and the other people she saved. It was lovely to see that Soso accepted that her birth mark was special, and nothing that she needed to hide.
This was a lovely book and the illustrations were beautiful and went well with the story.
