My Review:-This is the first book that I have read with so many pages, 773 pages to be exacted, so I had to read it in stages. This is the first book I have read by Palmer Pickering, I will be looking for others.
Even though Teleo is a retired soldier that has survived war, he was also a casualty as his wife and daughter were murdered and his only son stolen by the enemy. He comes across an war orphan, that he takes on as his son. We learn about the heliotrope, a collection of mage infused stone and plays a big part of if. There are some strong characters in this book. Teleo, Jessum, Sigrid, Mora and Kaspari are all strong in their own way. This book is full of magic, sword fighting, fantasy, adventure and so much more, it will not disappoint.
