Travels with my Grief

Travels with my Grief
By Susan Bloch
Genre:-Non-Fiction
Pages:-188
Blurb:-This ultimately uplifting memoir is the extraordinary recollection of a middle-aged woman, who following the tragic loss of her husband, decides to start a completely new life.
giving up her successful career in the UK, Susan moves to live and work in India where she challenges her grief, beliefs, and courage as she faces the uncertainties and anxieties of a new life in a new country.
More than the carnival of colour, curiosities and customs that the author opens herself to, it is the trust in new friendships, the leaps of faith, and finally, the literal and metaphorical walk-through fire that draws us in and allows us to see how our own fears, injuries, and isolation might be remedied.
"Heart-wrenching and gorgeous. Travels with my Grief documents the transformation from despair and dysfunction after the death of a beloved soulmate to a spirit-lifting journey full of colour intense drama, new friendship, a foodie's mouth-watering appreciation of "tandoori chicken, vegetable Biryani, garlicky black lentils, cardamom and ginger, and finally, the exhilaration of dancing again. Not to mention the thrill of walking on glass followed by walking on fire. A marvellous, dazzling memoir"-Priscilla Long, author of Fire and Stone: Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going?
"It is so vivid, it's like watching a movie. Every emotion, anxiety, joy and memories are so incredibly penned down, it's like travelling with Susan. This story is an inspiration for many who want to make a change but cannot leave their comfort zone. Take the plunge like Sue did."-Heena Munshow, managing director, Beacon Holidays, India.
!Susan invites us on her journey through grief, as she seeks new beginnings after the loss of her soulmate."-Kay Hutchison, radio producer, podcaster and author.

My Review:- I love the way this book has been wrote, it is uplifting and it show, that even when you think it will never get better we have the strength inside us to put us through. I could connect with Susan in so many ways. My husband died suddenly at 45 years old and even though I had had other family members die, when it's your soulmate and you think you are going to grow old together it hits you in a different way and Susan has told her story so well, the feelings she felt and how she had to get through everything, brought back so many memories, which showed me just how good of a writer Susan is. All I can say is Thank you for telling your story.
